A Visual Journey
I believe that insights in art support a cross-disciplinary practice; I find that my work in one discipline manages to influence work in another.
Having moved to England at the age of 13, I explored art as a theoretical subject. Unsurprisingly, I completed my A levels majoring in Art & Photography. I held a Master’s degree in Visual Merchandising from Florence, Italy a year later. The more years I spent working in retail design and fashion, the more I realised that art is not just an appealing form of creativity for me.
Over the years my eye drew inspiration from my mother, who is an artist herself. Her graceful and clean aesthetic helped me develop my art style, perfecting designs, colours, and straight lines. It was only natural to experiment having had a structured background. Patterns continue to have a profound influence on my artwork.
My artwork is a fragment of my memories and ideas. It consists of mixed-media techniques and holistic interventions such as drawing, painting, brand identity, installation, and visual merchandising.
My work is an examination of the different forms of flow that lie in this structure of a human and its resistance, amplified with the elements of creation. I hope for my art to be a reminder- slowing us down while we reconnect with the universe.
